Dempsey Orell Clayton

Brother Dempsey Orell Clayton was born March 18, 1928 to the late Will and the late Leonia Bennett Clayton.  He accepted Christ as his Savior and made him Lord of his life!

Dempsey Joined Oakland Bible Church and was a devoted and faithful member under the leadership of Rev. Charles Mixson and then later under the leadership of Rev. Wayne Anderson.  Bro. Clayton faithfully served as a deacon for many years.

He attended Alameda College where he learned the upholstery trade and pattern drafting.  He also worked as a housekeeper at Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA, and retired thereafter.

Dempsey was preceded in death by four sisters: Bertha Clayton, Beozia Clayton, Earties Glover, Norvell Ferguson and one sister-in-law, Seretha Clayton.

Dempsey had a giving spirit and a loving heart!  He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his brother, Alvin Lewis Clayton of Hot Springs, AR, and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a special cousin, Ernestine Clayton Doss.
