Obituary of Rev. Turner Hardin

Rev. Turner Hardin, age 53, of 3761 Hwy 344, Magnolia died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at home in Magnolia. Rev. Hardin was born March 11, 1959 in Magnolia, AR. He is the son of the late John, Jr. and the late Ruthie Lee (Grissom) Hardin. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a memeber of the Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Redden. Rev. Hardin was called to serve God early in life. In 1985, be became pastor of the St. Luke Baptist Church where se served faithfully until the year 2000. He then became pastor of Mt. Calm Missionary Baptist Church, Magnolia, AR where he remained until he was called home. He organized the Southern Baptist Singers and the Magnolia Community Choir. He served as director and featured soloist of the Columbia District Choir. He was the Director General of Columbia District Christian Education. He was employed at Southern Extrusion for 9 years. He is survived by: four brothers: Charles (Pearl) Hardin, James E. Hardin, and Shannon Lee (Roshanda) Hardin of Magnolia, and Raymond (Joann) Hardin of Summerfield, LA, two aunts; Trudie (Rev. James Fred) Williams and Joann Harris of Magnolia, one uncle, Earnest (Joyce) Grissom of Muskegon, MI, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, September 29 at Columbia Baptist District Center, Youngblood Auditorium, Magnolia, AR under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery, 1859 Col 27 S, Magnolia. Calling hours will be Friday, September 28 from 12:00 noon - 5:00 pm at Henderson's Mortuary, 614 Calhoun Rd, Magnolia, AR.
