Mrs. Charlotte Clayton, 64, of Emerson, AR, died Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Camden, AR.  Born March 8, 1959, in San Francisco, CA, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Charles Carpenter, Sr. and the late Rogean Hampton Carpenter.  She was married to Larry Clayton and for the past forty years, made her home with him in Emerson, AR.

She was a Pentecostal woman of faith.  She worked as a paper sorter for Banner News.  Charlotte was known for her culinary skills, especially her wonderful lollipops, among the youth and adults of the community. She loved to cook and shared her passion with her grandson. She was known particularly for her candy making, which always made her the "popular" grandmother in the neighborhood!

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Marcellas Carpenter.  She leaves precious and cherished memories with her husband: Larry Clayton; two daughters: Carmen Randleston of Oakland, CA and Michele Randleston of Sweden; three grandchildren: Darnell Roberts of Emerson, AR, De'Andre Randleston and Asia Randleston of San Francisco, CA; one great-grandchild; five brothers, all of San Francisco, CA: Charles Carpenter, Jr (Ann), Jarvis Carpenter, Leautry Carpenter, Charles Carpenter, III, and John Carpenter; three sisters: Shirley Hampton, of San Francisco, CA,  Rolanda Carpenter and Evelyn Carpenter, both of Las Vegas, NV; and a great host of other family members and friends.
