Obituary of Larry Cooper

Mr. Larry Cooper, 84, of Magnolia, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Magnolia Regional Medical Center. His playful spirit and mischievous eyes will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him!

Born October 14, 1939 to Effrom and Mary McKeller Cooper, Larry made Magnolia his lifelong home. He married Gloria Dean Brice and with her raised a blessed and god-fearing family until her passing.  He was an honest and hard-working man, who was truly a gifted mechanic. He worked in the oil field, and construction, but shared the fondest memories of his time at Transcontinental.

Larry served as a deacon of his beloved St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church and could always be counted on to "uplift the mood" of any room that he entered.

Preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers: Effrom, Colvin, James Ray, and Carvin Cooper, Larry leaves precious memories with two sons: Larry Cooper, Jr (Debbie) of Fayetteville, AR, Richard Cooper of Magnolia; three daughters: Mary Lowe (Terry), Murline Livingston (the late Morris), Barbara Henderson (Jarvis) all of Magnolia; twelve grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Marva Davis of Waldo; two special nephews: Shawn Jackson and Tony Cooper and a great many other relatives and friends.
