Obituary of Roy Chester Barnes

On Tuesday, April 9, 2024, our dear "Skipper", Roy Chester Barnes, went home to be with the Lord.  Born on December 31, 1950, he was the 73 year old son of the late Chester Curtis Barnes and Darlene Sanford Barnes.  

Roy Chester's passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of his family and friends who all loved him deeply.  Born and raised in Emerson, Arkansas, he was a hard worker, toiling in the Sawmill until an injury forced his retirement. He was preceded in death by his daughter, LaTieasha Cooper, his father Chester Curtis Barnes, his  brother, Theodore Barnes, and one sister, Aire Lee Barnes.

 Skipper leaves cherished memories with his wife, April Brown Barnes; one son, Tyrone Barnes of Texas; one daughter, Jacqueline Johnson of  Louisiana; four grandchildren: Tyone Barnes, Kaearrion Cooper, Korayona Ross, Koryia Turner; his mother, Darlene Sanford Barnes;two brothers: Elvis Ray Barnes of Magnolia, Ronald Wayne Barnes of Mississippi ; two sisters:  Katherine (Nazaree) Critton and Glenda Barnes of Magnolia, and a great host of other family and friends.
