Obituary of Josh Dansby

Josh Dansby, age 100, of 603 E. 3rd St., Junction City, LA died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at home in Junction City, LA. Mr. Dansby was born March 24, 1912 in Homer, LA. He is the son of the late James "Jim" and the late Jessie (McClendon) Dansby. He married Mary L. Moore. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary L. Moore. He served his country in the Army during the WWII from 06/27/1942 to 10/26/1945. He was a man of faith who served his church, New Mt. Union Baptist, as a deacon for many years. Until retirement, he was self- employed in lawn maintenance. He is survived by one daughter: Marilyn Dansby Hill of Junction City, LA, and two sons: Josh Dansby, Jr. of Fresno, CA, Jerry W. Dansby of Junction City, AR, seventeen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren,three brothers:Elmer and Clois Dansby of Fresno, CA and Albert Dansby of Los Angeles, CA, one sister, Dollister Gordon of Fresno, CA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral will be 2:30 pm Sunday, October 14, 2012, at the New Mt. Union Baptist Church, Junction City, with Rev. Doug Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in The Community Cemetery, Hwy 167, Junction City, AR under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service. Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2012, from 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm at the funeral home, 614 Calhoun Rd, Magnolia, and from 1:30 pm until time of service on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the New Mt.
