Obituary of Calvin Jacob Coleman

Calvin Jacob Coleman, age 64, of 8040 Columbia 27 S, Magnolia died Monday, February 4, 2013 at home in Magnolia. Calvin was born November 1, 1948 in Magnolia, AR. He is the son of the late Lee Grant and the late Augusta (Kelly) Coleman. Calvin played a big part in the lives of everyone around him. He was one who was always more than willing to help, whatever the task. He was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. He served in the Marine Corps during the the Vietnam War from 08/09/1972 to 03/13/1974, receiving recognition as a Rifle Sharpshooter, as well as the National Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Service Medal. Calvin had a true love for architecture and building and received his degree summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He was self-employed as long as his health allowed as a carpenter. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Florene Coleman Broomfield and Mayrene Coleman White. He is survived by one brother: Alvin Coleman of Dallas, TX; two nephews, Lance White and Ramon Broomfield of Magnolia, AR, and one niece, Cynthia Broomfield-McGraw of El Dorado, AR. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Columbia 27 S, Magnolia, AR with Rev. Robert Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Magnolia under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service, www.hendersonsmortuary.com Calling hours will be Friday, February 8 from Noon-5:00 pm at Henderson's Mortuary, Inc., 614 Calhoun Rd., Magnolia, AR.
