Obituary of Ret. GYSGT Mack

L. T. Mack, age 67, of Louisville, KY, was also known as "Jessie T" to his family and friends. He was born January 5, 1947 in Magnolia, AR. He is the son of the late Earl T and Syilvester (Sharp) Mack. He was a graduate of the Walker High School Class of 1965. He enlisted in the Marine Corps where he retired after twenty-two years of service. In all of his time living in Louisville, he touched so many lives by positions held within the community and professionally. Some of those things were his position as a Corrections Officer within Jefferson County and his active support as a Deacon at Loves Fellowship. He recently retired from Whitney M. Young where he assisted with Job Corps Training and worked with many young adults to help mold and teach values. L.T. also served as the Mayor of the Worthington Hills neighborhood community and also maintained an active board membership until his passing. In continuing his education, L.T. obtained an Associate Degree at McKendree University. He is preceded by his late wife Mary Elizabeth Mack; his two sons: Christopher (Mack) Mayfield, and Marvin Earl "Peewee" Mack. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Syilvester (Sharp) Mack, two daughters: Jessica Mack (Timothy) Burns of Orlando, FL, Roszina "Rocky" Mack of Louisville, KY, seven grandchildren: Christopher, Benjamin, Breanna, Teanna, Jabriel (Jon Jon), Anthony, and Assata, two great grandchildren: Tristyn and Chris III, two brothers and two sisters: Vernasell Huggins, Retired First Sgt. John T. (Joyce) Mack, Walter Ray (Nina) Mack, all of Magnolia, AR, and Vernaneese Mack of Atlanta, GA, his cousins, more like brothers, Jimmy Parker of Radcliff, KY, and Vaine Caldwell of Fredericksburg, VA, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at St. Mark Baptist Church, 777 Col 11, Magnolia, AR, on Sunday, December 28 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Hwy 371, Magnolia, under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service. Visitation will be Friday, December 26, from noon until 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
