Obituary of Florida Revels

Sister Florida B. Thomas-Revels, 89, Springhill, LA, was born in Magnolia, AR on October 10, 1925 to the late Jay B. Moore and the late Lydia Thomas Williams. She lived much of her life in the southern Arkansas area, serving as a homemaker and member of Harrison Chapel Church. She had nine siblings on her mother's side, including Emma D. Smith and the late(s) Zadia M.Wolf, Nevella Harris, Allie M. Pitts, Lucille Jones, R.J. Thomas, John D. Thomas, Robert Lee Thomas and Mack C. Thomas. she was also preceded in death by her two siblings on her father's side, Lester C. Moore and Letha Page, and one son, Melvin A. Walker. She departed this life on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Promise Hospital, Bossier City, LA. She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Tieva Walker, Clemont Walker, Jacqueline Walker and Wanda Smith; one sister, Emma Dean Smith of Chicago, IL, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 1:00 pm at the AC Henderson Memorial Chapel, 614 Calhoun Rd, Magnolia, AR. Burial will follow at West Cemetery, Magnolia.
