Obituary of Minnie L Warren

Minnie was born Minnie Lee Johnson on January 6, 1932 in Lewisville, AR. She is the daughter of the late Rev. Henry H. and the late Estella (Turner) Johnson. She accepted Christ at an early age. Minnie united with St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church where she remained until she was called home to be with the Lord. She was a woman that loved working and taking care of family and friends. She never met a stranger and was always smiling! Minnie loved to cook and that love came through in her food. Everyone's favorite, her chicken and dressing was legendary! Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wiley Warren, Jr., her brother, Henry "Junior" Johnson, two sisters, Erma Hendrix, and one son, Ira Edwards. She leaves her cherished memories to three sons: Freddie (Jackie) Jackson of Houston, TX, James (Charlotte) Warren of Jacksonville, AR, Ricky (Lillie) Warren of Hensley, AR, two daughters: Stella Warren of Stephens, AR, Gloria (Rick) Sutton of Camden, AR, her beloved sixteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren and a great host of nieces and nephews. Special extended family members include Marilyn Warren, Robin Flournoy, Darryl and Sharece Easter, Andrew and Janice Pitts, Doris Frazier, Kwesi Torrence, Willie Mae Doss, Dorothy Isom, the New Union AME Church family and friends. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, July 15 at St. Matthew Baptist Church, 1171 Columbia Rd 62 W, McNeil, AR with Pastor James C. Scott, officiating, and Rev. Roy Jones, eulogist. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery, Stephens, under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service.
