Obituary of Frank Elerson

Deacon George Franklin Elerson, age 90, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. “Frank” was the eldest son of nine children born to the union of the late Daniel W. and the late Girdie Ramey Elerson. Although he never attended college (he’d received his GED after dropping out of school to work and help to provide for his family), anyone would be hard pressed to find a more intelligent, well-read or knowledgeable man. He was a kind and generous man, loving husband and father, a doting grandfather, a helpful neighbor, patient and wise teacher, a good friend to so many and a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. Frank was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Christina Elerson Clark, two grandsons, Christopher Brown and Sedric Brown, one sister, Avanell Ball, and his first wife, friend and mother of his children, Etta Lewis Elerson. He leaves cherished precious memories with his wife of twenty-eight years, Bettie Jo Eason Elerson, two sons: George Franklin Elerson, Jr. of Bartlett, TN, Charles Randall (Debra) Elerson of El Dorado, AR; two daughters: Georgette Williams of Menomonee Falls, WI, Freda (Jerry) Johnson of Jackson, WI, six grandchildren: Joshua Franklin Elerson of Germantown, TN, Jai Matthew Elerson of Memphis, TN, Adam Lockhart (Angela) Elerson, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, Queshon Clarice (Christopher) Kennard of Los Angeles, CA, Grey Lewis (Treshain) Elerson of Layton, UT, Nania Miranda Elerson of ElDorado, AR, four great-grandchildren, seven siblings: Charles Rayburn (Johnnie) Elerson of Anchorage, AK, James Roy (Hattie) Elerson of Milwaukee, WI, Daisy Lewis, Maxine Taylor, Betty Joyce Mallett, and Carolyn Huley all of Milwaukee, WI, and Easter Lowery of Angel Camp, CA, and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Public viewing in accordance with social distancing mandates (masks required) will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday, August 24 at Douglas Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, his beloved church home. Due to Covid-19, Frank will be interred at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens following a private graveside service, under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service. Online guestbook available at www.hendersonsmortuary.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to: Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 1 Children’s Way, Little Rock, AR 72202 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105, both were near and dear to his heart. Thank you and be blessed!
