Herman was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church. He was the first Black member of the Magnolia Jaycees. Always hard working, he work many hats. He was a very reputable DJ both locally and abroad, although his greatest love was electrical work. He became known as the "Local and affordable Appliance Man" who was adored by the community.

Just want to express my deepest sympathy to Herman's family. He was a good man and a good friend. Being a couple years older than I am, we partied together back in the day because He was the DJ to get! To the family,
God called home one of Magnolia's finest gentlemen the other day.
Herman has been a friend since I first met him nearly 15 years ago. He repaired several appliances and did many electrical jobs for me. He would always tell me that, "I want to treat right. If you're satisfied, I'm satisfied."
I pray you continue looking to and leaning on God during this difficult period.
Herman's simle, honesty, professionalism, firm hand-shake, heart-felt love for people and other characteristics will be truly missed.
Because Herman "treated people the way he wanted to be treated," God has rewarded him.
