Herman was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church. He was the first Black member of the Magnolia Jaycees. Always hard working, he work many hats. He was a very reputable DJ both locally and abroad, although his greatest love was electrical work. He became known as the "Local and affordable Appliance Man" who was adored by the community.
